Job Title Lead Firmware Engineer, Lund Job Description Do you enjoy setting the technical direction while staying close to the engineering itself? As our Lead Firmware Engineer in Lund, you will help shape how our firmware team works, strengthen our agile ways of working and advance how we use AI, all while developing the firmware behind Axis thermal and explosion-protected cameras. About the role We are looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer to drive the technical direction of our firmware team, strengthen our ways of working through agile methodologies, and build close collaboration with other Axis development teams. Advancing how we work with AI is also a key part of the role. This is a technical leadership role without direct reports, where you work closely with the Engineering Manager and the team's system architect, with the ambition of growing into a system architect role. You will set direction and shape how the team works, while remaining close to the engineering itself. Your future team You will join a team of 18 firmware developers working across several product areas, including thermal cameras and explosion-protected cameras. The team develops in C in a Linux environment, and our products run embedded Linux. In this role you will, for example: Explore and understand use cases, and translate them into clear, well-structured requirements for the team Drive and lead our AI development in a structured and systematic way Act as a technical discussion partner and sounding board to product managers and other managers, balancing competing technical requirements Strengthen our design-first approach by visualizing and presenting the intended code architecture, including taking a proactive approach to system resource requirements such as processing power and memory demands Build and maintain testing capabilities within the team, ensuring efficient test frameworks and suites are available for continuous use Coordinate firmware-related work across the firmware teams in
