About the position A 100% 3-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in tumor cell biology is available in the research group of Prof. Philippe Collas, project group of Dr. Marie Rogne, at the Department of Molecular Medicine, Division of Biochemistry, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Oslo ( Collas Lab ). The position is funded through the Norwegian Cancer Society. Within the Institute, the Division of Biochemistry consists of a young and active community of nine research groups working on cancer biology, chromatin and nuclear dynamics, nuclear architecture, membrane trafficking, and adipocyte, muscle and vascular biology, using human, fly and mouse models. More about the position The overall goal of the project is to establish knowledge of the innovative therapeutic potential of microproteins in advanced prostate cancer. In this context, the successful applicant will, in collaboration with the research team and external partners at Oslo University Hospital, examine how specific microproteins regulate the activity of the transcription factor RUNX2, using cancer cell lines and PDX mouse tumor models, for various cell-based assays. The work involves in vivo setups and is expected to necessitate optimizations. A postdoctoral position is intended for the employee to develop a research profile and competence that qualifies them to apply for an Associate Professor position. The position may also provide other competencies relevant to the postdoctoral fellow's future career. A career plan shall be developed for the Postdoctoral Fellow, specifying the competencies the Postdoctoral Fellow should acquire. UiO is responsible for following up on the career plan and ensuring that the Postdoctoral Fellow has access to career guidance throughout the postdoctoral term. Responsibilities Design and execute PDX prostate cancer studies evaluating the effect of microprotein modulation and peptide therapy, using cell biological approaches. Design and perform cellular
