We are working with a leading global packaging company to find a Senior Elastic Specialist for an exciting opportunity.As an Elastic Stack observability specialist, you will support our client’s digital journey by contributing to the implementation of a standardized observability stack. The role is focused on:· Designing a stack that spans over air gapped environments.· Analyzing current observability data and its usability in KQL· Define improvements for data consistency and query performance· Improving data structure and tagging· Implement alerts, detection strategies and visualizations· Explore storage type alternatives - hot vs cold storage· Define retention policies by data type and usage· Implement head/tail sampling strategies· Provide documentation and knowledge transferWe believe you have:· Deep expertise in the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Elastic APM, OTEL)· Experience with Elastic Fleet management· Strong experience in observability engineering, focusing on logs, metrics, and traces correlation· Advanced expertise in KQL (Kibana Query Language)· Strong experience in designing detection logic and dashboards using KQL· Experience in Logstash pipeline design, transformation, and routing· Experience with alerting strategies and anomaly detection within Elastic· Knowledge of data modeling, tagging strategies, and schema design using Elastic Common Schema (ECS)· Experience in storage tier strategies· Experience integrating Elastic with external systems e.g. Splunk· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills· Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams· Strong communication and documentation skills
