Overview The Spatial AI Lab is part of Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group, which develops next-generation human-computer interaction technologies using advances in AI, hardware, and device design. Our scientists and engineers specialize in computer vision, multimodal AI, spatial and embodied AI, robotics, and cloud services. We are looking for a software engineer to develop intelligent systems and experiences for emerging agents. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, students, and external research partners across applied research, rapid prototyping, and product development. The work may span AI models, robotics, hardware and software integration, developer tools, data and evaluation systems, and scalable product capabilities. Our technical focus evolves frequently, so you should be comfortable with ambiguity, learning new technologies, and applying strong software engineering skills across research and product challenges. You may also collaborate with academic partners such as ETH Zurich, contribute to research publications and demonstrations, and mentor students. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day, we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. Responsibilities Design, implement, test, and maintain software for intelligent systems, prototypes, and product experiences. Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and students to translate research ideas and early prototypes into robust implementations. Develop and integrate components involving areas such as multimodal AI, computer vision, spatial computing, embodied AI, robotics, data processing, simulation, or hardware integration. Evaluate system behavior, investigate technical issues, and improve performance, re
