Senior Software Engineer to modernise financial risk platforms using C\#/.NET, microservices and modern data technologies in Basel. Financial Services Software Engineer Job description: As a **Financial Services Software Engineer**, you will join a Risk IT team of approximately 12–15 engineers and contribute to the modernisation of business\-critical financial risk management systems. The environment is transitioning from a legacy monolithic architecture towards scalable, containerised microservices. Your responsibilities will include: * Contribute to the continued development of the **Risk IT microservices stack in C\#** * Refactor and decompose an existing **.NET Framework** codebase into smaller components for migration to **.NET Core and OpenShift** * Support the transition towards a **Cloudera\-based Data Lake** platform * Replace legacy interfaces to Banking IT systems with a **Kafka\-based streaming architecture** * Work closely with business users and Risk Analysts to gather and refine requirements * Deliver stable, incremental improvements with a strong focus on testing and software quality * Participate in rotating business\-hours support to maintain system stability and performance * Contribute to projects focused on automating risk operations and modernising the application landscape About the customer: Our client is a prestigious international financial institution based in Basel, operating at the heart of the global financial system.
