We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to help our customers develop secure, connected products. Working in a consulting role, either as part of a customer team or in an Etteplan-managed project, you build embedded software across the full stack from low-level platform components to application logic. The ideal candidate sees the bigger picture. Beyond writing high-quality code, you understand architectures, technical trade-offs and the regulatory requirements that increasingly shape modern embedded development. Most of your work is in C and C++ and you apply Rust where it brings clear value. We do not expect deep Rust expertise. Curiosity and willingness to learn are enough. Cybersecurity regulations, including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), IEC 62443 and the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), increasingly influence architecture, testing and documentation. You help our customers meet these requirements through sound engineering practices and thoughtful technical decisions. AI-assisted and agentic development tools are part of our daily workflow. We expect you to use them with good judgment: understanding when generated code can be trusted, when it requires verification and applying the same review discipline as to any other contribution, especially in regulated environments. Your main responsibilities ·Define software and system architecture for embedded Linux, C and C++ products treating security and safety as design constraints from the start ·Lead or contribute to threat modelling and design reviews that cover connectivity, update mechanisms and attack surface ·Write and review embedded software in modern C++ (C++17 and newer) and C for resource-constrained, real-time and connected environments and apply Rust where memory safety brings clear value ·Work across the full software stack bootloader, kernel, middleware and application layers, including board bring-up and driver-level debugging ·Build and maintain the test strategy across unit, integrat
